MI Options

MiGen’s MI Options is a statewide department designed to help aging adults, their loved ones, and caregivers make informed decisions about Medicare, and long-term care and supports.

By offering free, unbiased, and affirming Medicare counseling and Person-Centered Options Counseling (PCOC), MI Options provides the guidance, resources, and planning individuals need to prepare for the future in a way that reflects their personal goals, values, and preferences.

Medicare counseling includes:

  • – Enrollment assistance
  • – Medicare and Medicaid coordination
  • – Discussion on cost savings options
  • – Prescription drug coverage option
  • – Billing questions
  • – Benefits explanation

Person-Centered Options Counseling includes:

  • – Exploring long-term care options at home or in the community, like in-home help, transportation, or social and wellness programs
  • – Figuring out the next steps after a big change-like a hospital stay, new diagnosis, or move-so you know what care and support options are available
  • – Creating a plan that matches your personal goals, values, and preferences to guide your care and support choices
